# Examples

> Flows assistants run well with the Dexi tools

Prompts to try (or to steal for your own agent's instructions). Each shows the tool sequence a capable assistant settles into.

## Research recall

> What have I saved about vector databases? Anything related I've forgotten about?

1. `semantic_search("vector databases")` — meaning-based, so notes about pgvector or embeddings match without the literal phrase
2. `get_note(id)` on the strongest hits for full text
3. `find_similar(id)` on the best note to surface adjacent reading saved months ago

Semantic first, keyword (`search_notes`) when the user gives exact words or a title fragment.

## Capture during work

> Save a note: the standup decision was to ship folders behind a flag — tag it project-dexi and mention Sarah.

1. `create_note(title="Standup decision: folders behind a flag", text="… #project-dexi @sarah")`

Tags go **inline in the text** — `#project-dexi` and `@sarah` become tags automatically; there is no separate tags parameter. To add to an existing note instead, `search_notes` for it, then `update_note(mode="append")` — append is the safe default; replace destroys rich formatting.

## Folder triage

> What's piling up unfiled? Suggest where things should go.

1. `list_folders()` — folder names, counts, and the unfiled count
2. `list_notes(folder="unfiled", size=20)` — the backlog
3. Suggest destinations from the existing folder names; the user files notes in the app

Folder assignment isn't exposed as a tool yet, so the assistant recommends and the user moves.

## Review session

> Quiz me on my review deck.

1. `get_due_reviews()` — due cards with `due_count`
2. For each card: show the **title only**, let the user attempt recall, then reveal the body
3. `grade_review(note_id, grade)` — 1 forgot / 2 hard / 3 good / 4 easy; the schedule updates immediately (Again comes back in \~10 minutes)

The assistant should never reveal the answer before the user attempts recall — that's the point of the exercise.
